I never thought I would ever being reviewing another Socket
A motherboard in the near future, until I decided to do a voltage mod on my
Abit KT7 motherboard and ooops.... So luckily Aopen deside to send me an AK73
Pro to review. Sweet I say, great timing!
So I gets the board...

I have to say, even the BOX impressed me, this is one area they are obviosuly
trying to work on - point of sale advertising. In a shop situation, this works
well. But when ordering over the internet or mail order - who cares?
It was packaged excellently, using a vacuum formed enclosure
- On the top tray there was the motherboard lying there. This was seperated
by a plastic sheet (similar to that used in an OHP), then under was the various
other things you find bundled with a motherboard.
The manuals in this box are very impressive. What I like is
the "Easy Installation Guide", which I my opinion is all the average
man needs to install this motherboard - all the necessary information is on
there, and put in a very friendly way. The manual says exactly what the user
guide says but tackles the smaller bits and the troubleshooting. The manual
does not tip-toe around overclocking, in fact very much promotes it!
There was also your usual ATA/100 cable, IDE and Floppy cable
- and something I think is great, is they bundled Norton Antivirus 2000! This
is my favorite of the virus checkers with a value of $39.95 (according to
them).
