Thermaltake VA3000 SNA "Tsunami Dream"

The ThermalTake Tsunami is an aluminium case that seems to have been designed with LAN parties in mind. It sports an extremely stylish curvy aluminium front panel; sturdy locks for the side panels and the door, as well as a large window and plenty of cooling.

Some thought has been put into the design of the Tsunami. As soon as you pick it up, you will notice not only the light weight, but the rounded lower edges of the case. It uses a curved panel much like the top panel to form the floor of the case, making it an extremely comfortable case to carry. The case includes three ThermalTake fans, 120mm front and rear, and an 80mm fan mounted on the case window.

Unusually for an aluminium case, the side panels and top panel are painted, in metallic silver. The door is made up of aluminium extrusions, but the fascia behind it is silver plastic. This mixture of finishes and materials does not detract from the overall look, as all the various silver finishes compliment each other nicely.

The window feels very much as if it was designed that way from the beginning, rather than just a hole cut in the case as an afterthought. The moulded perspex fits flush with the case side and the fitted fan uses a very smart looking speaker style perforated grille. Also worthy of note are the locks. Both door and side panel have separate locks, both solid and good quality. These should give you peace of mind if you attend a lot of large LAN parties, or have siblings.

The ThermalTake Tsunami is a great all rounder, and at only £93.94, very deserving of our recommended award.
