First, I shall cover the most popular kind of duct, the 80mm to 60mm fan adaptor.
These can greatly increase the performance of 60mm heatsinks, and cut noise
considerably. Some, like the AVGS icehole, are on sale for up to £40. Cheaper
models can be found for around £10, but why spend a tenner on something you
can find in the fridge anyway?
That’s right, the humble Mullerice pot is the perfect
size.
Just cut like so..
Add a mount for the 80mm fan, (I use the frame of a dead fan for
this) and fix it to your sink.
This mod can double the airflow you get through your sink, or halve the noise.
Cost? 33p, plus a suitable 80mm fan.
