Other Household Objects With Ducting Potential

I went round the house with a ruler, and attempted to make a list of things that were the right diameter to make into ducts.

Straight ducts
40mm Toilet roll inner
50mm Lynx can (Ed: Pressurised container - not recommended)
60mm Beer can
80mm  Canned fruit tin
92mm 500g Cadburys drinking chocolate tin
92mm 2 litre coke bottle
120mm  3 litre coke bottle

Reducing ducts
60-50mm “Shape” trifle pot
80-60mm Mullerice pot
92-60mm 2 litre coke bottle
120-80mm 3 litre coke bottle

Another idea that I thought of was to use a cheap plastic funnel, they come in all sizes, and can be cut to size easily. They are also sturdy, and fairly aesthetically pleasing if you get one in clear plastic.

Conclusion

Large improvements in the effectiveness of fans can be seen through the use of well placed ducts. Be inventive, see what you can find around the house and you may be surprised by the results you can achieve.
