The bottom row are attachments for Motorola, Sony Ericsson,
Nokia and Seimens (both types) phones while the top device converts the voltage
from 5 to 6 volts which is required by some of the phones.
I use a Nokia 5210 and it charged it fine without a problem.
Considering the small and tidy nature of the device, I can keep it in my laptop
bag at all times, for when it is needed. I also tested the extension cable
with my 6 in 1 USB card reader and it worked without any problems at all.
Conclusion
There isn't a lot of testing or much to be said with this product.
If it didn't do the job it suggested, it wouldn't be allowed on sale. But
it does work and actually serves a useful function, taking up very little
space and helping remove cable clutter. ZipLinq products are available in
most countries, and in the UK they sell through Widget.
At £24.99 inclusive of VAT I think this is a little steep, but this
is a non-essential item. Although eBuyer
will do standard USB -> Nokia chargers for only £1.99 you are mainly
paying for the retractable USB lead, which comes in handy in many other scenarios
too. Although you may not need all the attachments, it does give the flexibility
of being able to offer to charge your friends phone and stay prepared for
your next phone upgrade.
