ATi Radeon 9700 Pro Vs nVidia GeForce Ti4600

I found the CPU bottleneck during benchmarking anoying, it would be nice to run it on a faster machine. For this I managed to bribe my friend with a few drinks to let me borrow his 2.5ghz P4 for a short amount of time. Just long enough for me to grab some benchmarks and to find that even that wasn't enough to get rid of the bottleneck - it was faster but still hit that wall.

I think you can agree with me when I say there is NO competition here. The Radeon 9700 pro is easily the better card. Going by the prices at eBuyer the Radeon is almost 40% more expensive that the ti4600. I feel you get your moneys worth with this card. If you can't afford the extra cash to buy the 9700 pro. The ti4600 is still a very good card, but the award has to go to the Radeon 9700 pro not only giving the best performance - but future-proofs you.

Thanks to ATi and nVidia for supplying me with cards to make this review possible.

I give the ATi Radeon a Spode's Abode Recommended award!
