System Specs

The Canterwood system was benchmarked as we received it, with stock bios settings, and an ATI Radeon 8500 graphics card with the latest drivers and memory in dual channel configuration.

The Spode's Abode motherboard test bed.

For comparison we used an Asus AZN8X Nforce 2 motherboard with the same memory but set to aggressive timings and the same graphics card. FSB was 333mhz and CPU clock was 1743mhz. Roughly equivalent to an XP 2100+ We had major issues getting the onboard SATA to work, and so were forced into using an obsolete 9GB HDD though this didn't effect the benchmarks we ran. My position of head of motherboard reviews is new, so I'm still getting all the equipment together and finalising the testing routine.

These were the first motherboards to be treated to our test procedure. Unfortunately we had some teething problems with getting SYSmark2002 to run and so could not include any results for this test.
