Cold Cathode Kits

Sunbeam offer cold cathode kits in both 100 and 300mm versions and both can be had in a variety of colours. We received some 300mm blue and red kits for this review. A kit consists of the tube, a PCI plate with a switch, a dual inverter box and some velcro tape. Brightness is 30,000 cd/m2, and lifetime is predicted to be 30,000 hours (which totals to more than three years of operating time).

You install both the tube and the inverter box using the velcro tape. Then install the PCI plate in the back, connect the wires and you are all set up. The dual inverter has 2 outputs, meaning you can connect two tubes to just one inverter.

If you are looking to invest in cold cathode kits, these may just be what you want. They provide a good light, installation is easy, and you can even buy a separate sound control module for the kit.
