After a year and a half of great use I managed to crash my Creative Zen micro photo. When the old x2 rig crashed I lost the original install of software that came with it. I down loaded all the available software from Creative's website. I tried to remove some files and add others. What I ended up with was dead silence. All the files are there on screen but nothing plays. I'm waiting to see if I can get the install disc and format and reinstall.
In the mean time I have become so spoiled with having the music that I decided to spend a little of the tax refund on a new player. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E1685522: I'm going to give this beauty a try. :)

nice one! I was considering the Cowon D2 just because it has the touch screen and the UI is skinable. The Cowon name is also reason to consider it. I love the amps Cowon uses.
