General: Bad News :(

    Two bits of bad news, unfortunately.

    First, as you can see here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7338424.stm Oasis Hong Kong airlines have gone bust - I had £1150 worth of tickets with them for this summer. :@ I am going to ring them up but I'm not hopeful.

    Secondly - I broke the screen on my Centro :'( It was in my pocket and I took it out and it was cracked. It still works but the touchscreen doesn't work near the cracks. Palm charge £110 to take it to repair - considering that I paid £200 for it in the first place that's a bit outrageous. Also I had my Treo 650 for 2 years before that and it never broke whilst in my pocket. I think it's a build quality issue but Palm's website states emphatically that under no circumstances will they be responsible if the screen breaks. :'(

    Sorry Lolly, but the first word that comes to mind is "Bummer". You're not having a good day! I know it's hard sometimes, but you must look for the silver lining. Your broken screen may be covered on your household insurance, (As you were at home when it happened, weren't you) and who knows, one of those flights may have ended in a fashion you would not wish it to.
    Things will get better, they always do, if you believe they will. :D

    Aww thanks. :) Am looking into the insurance now - hadn't thought of that. I'm not sure whether it's classed as a phone or as a PDA (in the latter case it is covered but in the former probably not) but I will ring them up and find out.

    You could possibly get a new screen and fit it yourself?

    I'm thinking of doing a solder-mod to my N95. It doesn't charge via USB - yet the power port right next to it, uses the same voltage. They decided not to, to stop USB 1.1 computers kicking up a fuss. As I'm never going to use it on a USB 1 macihne, I'm going to solder the wires across :)

    My insurance doesn't cover the phone unfortunately. I would like to get a new screen and fit it myself if I could but I can't find anywhere in the UK that will sell one on the internet. There is one American site I found charging $80 (about £45 I suppose) which seems all right but shipping and so forth would be outrageously expensive.
