If there is one thing I have discovered over the last six months, is that YouTube is a wonderful resource for anything and everything to do with cats. Hours or enjoyment can be had - just try it. But today, I wondered if I should be considering giving my cat a bath. Looking into the topic I found this article that frankly makes it sound like something I should be avoiding. But looking on YouTube, this cat and this cat appear to enjoy being wet. This scene I think would be closer to the truth, although not quite as poorly executed ![]()
It's certainly something to consider. If I can coerce my house mate into helping me pin her down, I might give it a go. And at least my cat doesn't act like this one.

Is this what I should be expecting?
Update:
Rob and I decided it was a good idea, ran the bath, grabbed the cat
It went surprisingly well - she certainly didn't enjoy it, and the noises I heard would make anyone think she was dying. But she settled down eventually and didn't mind it too much. After a bit of towel action, she is sitting under the bed cleaning herself. Hopefully, I shall have a sweeter smelling cat ![]()
Why would you do that... cats spend all day bathing themselves! ![]()

Bathing an Orangutan.
First you need to barking mad, have plenty of soap, (as most of it gets eaten) own a very large bath, have the strength of Superman and you might just get away with it. Ear defenders are a good idea as well, the continuous OOOK noises can be deafening. Choking can also be a hazard also, a leathery hand that can span two octaves on a piano can wrap around your neck twice!
Thinking about it, it may be best to put up with the smell. ![]()
