    Hey guys.

My graphics cards gone to pot. I don't play games on my PC really anymore, but something that could reasonably handle a modern-ish game would do nicely.....preferably no more than £70.

    My spec is:

    Core 2 Duo E6400
    2GB Geil Dragon Cas4 PC6400
Asus Mobo.....not sure exactly which one it is
    Enermax 500W
    Ati Radeon X1950Pro

I'm thinking of spending £150~. What do you guys reckon I should upgrade? I just could do with a bit more speed...

Have a look at this Mike, it's well in your price range and most people agree the new type 8800GT's with 512 Meg of memory are the dogs undercarriage! :D

I'm assuming you have an PCIe socket. If not, have a look on e buyer for AGP cards, there are still some decent ones around.

Agreed - 8800GT or 9600GT is the way to go. The 9600GT is a little cheaper, e.g.

Apparently it's faster than the 8800GT for some games (though slower for others) but either would be good.

You could always spend some of that extra £50 left over to buy a nice Thermalright HR-03 passive cooler for the card so it's nice and silent :-)

Silence would be golden. I'm also trying to think of ways to run my PC almost completely silent.

    Thanks guys!
