I saw THIS and thought, well how interesting.
Could this be the demise for Microsoft? (The bit at the end)

I didn't read the whole article, but this is essentially what I've been saying for a long time. Moving towards Cloud Computing, with the Operating System no longer being relevant - all you need is a web browser.

And if Microsoft think they can offer a better solution in this department, they are sorely mistaken!

Microsoft has never been about offering a better solution though - just better marketed...

There is a lot of truth in that, but equally a lot wrong. Windows XP is STILL a superior consumer OS in many respects. Office is also a lot better than Open Office in many respects - the biggest gripe with Office is the cost.

Did anyone catch that CherryPC? Very nice Web appliance and really small too.

Beetween that and an EEEPC, I'l take the EEEPC though. I do like it for a general use computer in the living room or to connect to the TV.

Not quite free, but have a look at THIS I have no idea who makes it, but it does seem to have a reasonable spec for a very reasonable price. Sorry if you've seen it already. :)

I really want to look at a Cherry PC. It sounds very much like a Toaster PC :)

I've got an EeePC Desktop on the way soon :)

I've not seen that Novatech unit before. I wonder if it's any good?

Novatech do seem to sell only the best quality products, home branded or otherwise. I would still like to know who made it though.
