at PC World. If you've been interested in the netbook market, you'll certainly want to be checking out Channel Flip this week, as you'll find I review the following devices:
Asus EeePC 701, 901 and 1000
MSI Wind
HP Mininote 2133
Acer Aspire One
You can see the introduction video at the moment and I'll update this post with each video as it comes out. If you're lucky, I might post the original scripts on here for people who don't want to watch my ugly mug on camera ![]()

Your honest opinions on my skills in front of the camera would be appreciated. It'll be the only way I improve! I certainly feel I'm locking my lower jaw a little - usually a habit I have in order to decrease volume!
I feel like the mic was a lot closer to you than to Will. I found myself raising the volume to hear what Will was saying and lowering the volume when you were speaking. Overall, what can I say? Good Job! ![]()
I was mic'd up, he wasn't ![]()
After watching that three times, I can only nit pick and that is only because Spode asked what we thought. I can't be churlish enough to pick at it, so all I can say it was very good. It all worked well, it was coherent and if I wasn't asked to comment I would have watched it and been happy with exactly what it was. The Gadget show can be less than that on many occasions. Good work Spode. ![]()
I saw nothing I'd pick at you for...
I would be interested to know how the Atom stacks up against the Pentium M, actually - any chance of getting the machine with the spec closest to the eee running at 600Mhz as well as full tilt and running benchmarks?
I know Atom has no out of order execution abilities, which will hamper performance but decreases the transistor count massively (and so the heat/power consumption) so I'm guessing the Atom is more closely related to much older generations of CPU. Would be very interesting to see where it's strengths and weaknesses are.
So, are you saving the best for last? I found it interesting the comment you made about the EeePC being almost ThinkPad'ish. That is one thing I miss about my old work ThinkPad.
