at PC World.I just did my first virus scan on this computer - I've had this computer for two years.
Take a guess at how many viruses were found... ![]()
Depends - did you have a memory resident scanner running?
I don't think so....
Other than my Windows Firewall the only thing that ever ran was Windows Defender, which so far as I am aware defends against adaware and spyware - not viruses.
Then you are a fool and deserve any viruses you might have ![]()
Ha.
I got absolutely nothing - neither AVG or Norton found anything more terrifying than a few tracking cookies.
I'm quite chuffed, I think Vista is proving its worth. For me anyway.
My XP on my laptop, which I've had for the same amount of time, has slowed down considerably, and I have to keep "maintaining" it. I always forget to defrag, or check for spyware. Vista does it all for me, most of the time I'm not even aware it's happening.
Since I have been doing the host file on the Tomato powered router, I don't even get the tracking cookies. ![]()
