Firstly, I know I've been awful at blogging on here. The fact is, Twitter has quickly become a replacement for what is going on with my life because I can report on it there and then - and quickly! Even my parents use it as a way of keeping up with what I'm doing.

So recently, I've been *really* preoccupied with JournoTwit. If I looked back 6 months ago - the last thing I thought I'd be doing was creating my own twitter client - but here I am. The new "edge" version is a vast improvement over the current stable branch and involved almost a complete re-write of key sections of the code. It's been a useful experience for me - especially from a Javascript point of view.

It's now fully customizable with custom local/global searches, black listing, drag and drop columns, animations - dare I say "TweetDeck Beating". And I've got plenty more features on the way - including, yes, a nicer looking skin. Unlike TweetDeck, it didn't take millions of dollars of investment either - just blood, sweat and various other fluids. I'm very close to securing some investment at the moment - but just a few thousand to keep me in house and home while I continue developing. I'm very excited for what the future holds.

So what else have I been doing? Well, a *lot* of Think Bikes demos. We've been booked up pretty much every weekend and only now am I starting to have some downtime from that. Obviously I've been writing for various people as well to keep the money flowing in. I have a new house mate - Phil Hartup and my girlfriend Hannah moved in too (CRAZY!).

As many of you know, I've had various back problems over the years. I set it off again the other day shaking the duvet and decided to visit a local Osteopath recommended to me by Mike Evans from our Kent Linux group. The NHS has done every possible test to try and work out what is wrong and come up with "control it with medication" which is rather annoying. This chap however, managed to finally work out that it was in fact two of my ribs causing the problem and managed to prove it to me to.

He's now popped them back into place and seems to think that as long as I come back to him each time I trigger it off, after a few sessions they should stay in place. If he's right, frankly, that would be life changing. His evidence that it was my ribs was irrefutable - that much I'm confident of. Whether a "quick fix" such as this will do it, is another question. So let's see where I am in 6 months :)

It's not all been hard work though. I've allowed myself some free time to be creative too...

There is my "Suitopia" advert which can be heard here: http://soundcloud.com/spode/suitopiaadvert

And then just yesterday, I did a re-make of a scene from The Anchorman as part of a competition for Cisco / Axicom PR...
