After only a short stint in Belvedere, Hannah and I are moving again. It was never the intention to live in this area, but we couldn't originally find anything we wanted in Orpington. After a somewhat lucky break - our house developed a mould problem, allowing us to break the tenancy early. After a fair amount of hunting, we found a lovely property in the Petts Wood/Orpington area and we are moving in this Saturday!

The property has just been completely refurbished - brand new boiler, kitchen, carpets etc. It's got a nice little driveway and garage (currently renting one externally - so that's a money saver), garden and my office will be the biggest I've had to date!

It almost feels too nice a property. Somehow my furniture just won't feel good enough to be seen in it! I'm sure I'll find a way to smarten things up...

I'm going for a smooth, swift move - I've already managed to move and set up all the bills, the Van is booked and the Virgin installation as well. One of the nice things about Android 2.2 is you can turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot at the push of a button - so the 10 days I'll have without the astonishing Virgin 50Mbit broadband won't be such an issue. Really impressed that it's not costing me anything to have Virgin re-installed at the new property, and they are providing new equipment too as our old equipment apparently won't work (?).

The nice thing about where this house is, is that it's almost equidistant to Orpington, Petts Wood and St Mary Cray train stations, giving you fast links to Charing Cross, Victoria and Lewisham (for DLR). And of course, by car - I'm still 10-15 minutes from the M25.

Hopefully in the new house, Obi and Max will start to get along - otherwise I'm going to have to consider putting Max up for adoption :( I've grown quite fond of him, but Obi has been here longer and unfortunately for Max - that means he'd be the one going.

This is the closest they have been in a while - but after a few minutes, Max eventually pounced in, carrying away chunks of fur. I've been trying to introduce them better using a system of cages so they can smell each other without fighting - but Max always ends up getting aggressive. Unfortunately for Obi - Max is almost twice her size...

What's happening with the cats Spode? I hope they're getting on now and not fighting.

    Hey Coyote!

Thankfully, they are starting to get on a lot better now. Max still chases Obi a little, but they don't really fight and I don't have to separate them any more. Give it another 6 months and they might be the best of friends - who knows?

I'm glad thy are getting on better now, it would be heart breaking to give one away. I expect they will become good buddies after they sort out the pecking order.

How's the new place, settling in OK? It does seem rather nice there.

Still lots of settling in to do - but that's always the way. You're never really in place until a year down the line really. We have one room that's just full of stuff we took straight off the van!

I know the feeling, our front bedroom is full of living room. I was hoping to get the floor replaced, but due to lack of help I was unable to start work on it. It's now going to have to wait until next spring at the earliest.
    It's far too cold now.
So, two chairs and the TV is our winter living room! :( There never seems to be enough time and energy to get stuff done. Sandbagging I call it, having to do all those little jobs that crop up all the time. Oh well, it's better than being bored.
