Yeah, I've not been at it long...
I'm hoping to take a photography course and get really good at it.
Not sure a course is going to get you much further. Getting in touch with some pros would probably help though ![]()
I agree. That and practice. I know someone from another forum and he is getting really good. He is in London IIRC. He shadows a couple of pro photographers and I can't beleive the jump in his photo skills.
I wish I had more time to practice. ![]()
While searching the flickr for some warning sign examples, I came across this, hmmmmm, I wonder.
![]()

Hah! How did you find that?
That was put on the Custom PC Labs door as a joke
Well, sort of as a joke. Well, it was put on the door...
The course I was thinking of was a correspondence course run by photographers for people who want to go pro...
Sounds iffy. There are a lot of photography sites with some good info out there.
@ Spode: I found it on flickr while searching for warning signs. ![]()
Well, they're accredited by ASET apparently. No idea who they are though. I should talk to my mate Andy at Greenwich College, he'll know more, he's a course/careers advisor.

Slightly post-processed - removed the telegraph wires that used to come right up to the top left corner of the photo, and removed a lot of sheep poop from the field at the bottom, and made the colours a teeny bit more vivid...
That's lovely.
You should come to one of our demos and take some photos for us. Heh. Maybe make a Think Bikes calendar ![]()
Oh! Yeah, I think I'd like that!

Wish we had scenery like that here in the desert. ![]()
That's welsh wales of walesland, way way way west of where we wee willy winkies are now.
Word.
Remnants of hurricane Dolly have made it to the desert southwest. Reminiscent of the storms of 2006, we are now under a flash flood warning until tomorrow.

Yikes!
You don't live anywhere low-lying, do you Ivan?
Let's just say I am not in a highland area. Last time (2006) this happened, the flood waters got close (about 300M away). It has stopped raining now so lets hope we have seen the worse of this. I also uploaded some video to a local news site: http://www.communitycorrespondent.com/kdbc/story.php?id=31752
Hah! My video was just shown on the local evening news. ![]()
Your 15 minutes!

More like 30 seconds. 15 seconds on the evening news and 15 seconds on the nightly news. ![]()
Like that "shot" Colin. Pun most certainly intended. ![]()
There's another one from top of Devils Dyke in Sussex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil's_Dyke,_Sussex) that I took on Sunday. I discovered a panorama function on my Nokia 6120 and am very surprised how well it came out.
Posted By: ColinHere's a picture I like. Can't say if I took it or not
That looks cool, is it a Socom M24?

So nice of you to photograph my fiance

Definite signs of improvement in subject matter ![]()
