It's a Remington 700.
Hey, you were in my brother's neck of the woods. Well, pretty close anyway. ![]()
That's on my dream list of things to do - Spend some time living and surfing on the outer banks. Never even been to the US.

One day Pete. One day ![]()
I'm glad someone other than me posted into this thread, I was starting to think you lot were going to leave me to it! ![]()
I have not been taking pics of any artsy value. Just utilitarian stuffs. ![]()
My new thumb drive arrived. ![]()

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! My new lens turned up today. It's a minolta 35-105mm F3.5-F4.5 with dedicated macro mode switch. And, what with me being geek to the very core, I couldn't help but try out the new shiny thing...
Results?

Sorry, I could see the pic, didn't realise you lot couldn't - I linked to a picture on my local LAN, instead of a copy on the Internet...!
Doh! How totally newb of me!
Ooooo, love the shiny almost plastic look.
The light was great that day - and it was raining (although it was just stopping when I took that shot)...
Attack of the phones:

and my own macro attempt:

"Attempt" suggests you're not happy with the results - why on earth not?
Me likee that shot!
Oh, I like it.
It's just the first time I really seriously try macro.
Macro photos always remind me that I need to dust more often.
I need to retake this one, maybe with evening/late afternoon light the sky totally blew out. The sun was rather bright this morning. Took it on my way back to the office after a A/V setup for some management seminars being held at an out of the way place. ![]()

I need to start being a little more proactive with the manual adjustments on my camera. Not totally happy with the exposure on this shot. Auto mode just cant handle bright sunlight well. I did a little post processing to try and make it look purposeful. ![]()

Took this one last week. 11th floor window facing north. El Paso, Texas.

Yay! Someone other than me posted!
I love this thread.
Ivan - love that pic. I'd love to drive my jeep all over those mountains, too...
CB, I can drive my car over those mountains.
Actually, if you look at the leading edge of the mountain you will see a horizontal white line. That's Rim Road. Takes you along the edge of the mountain. It is also where I proposed to my wife.
If you look back where the farthest TV transmitter is, below it, is another road that takes you to the east side of the mountains.
